After living in Boston for about a year, I noticed that the queer community is largely limited to bars and nightclubs, and nothing really happens during the day outside of Pride or other sponsored gay events. I wanted to pull together the many male friends that I have made, mostly within the "bear" community, and hold holiday and summer events at my house. I wanted to use these events as a method of bringing together different people, and to connecting people around the Boston area. These events were mostly borne from the family ideals that my mother applied to family events, and I constructed these parties and welcomed my guests in the same manner that my mother would have, with lots of food, drinks, and entertainment.
